Low pressure forms over BoB, heavy rainfall in Odisha likely

Bhubaneswar: A Low Pressure Area over northeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood is likely to trigger heavy rainfall across Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted.

“Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal off West Bengal coast, a Low Pressure Area has formed over northeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood,” a bulletin of the IMD said.

It is likely to become more marked and concentrate into a Depression during next 48 hours.

Likely westward movement of the low pressure system may cause widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy and extremely heavy rainfall over Odisha on June 30 and July 1, the IMD forecasted.
