Low pressure-induced rain to lash these Odisha districts for next 7 days; check details

Bhubaneswar: Due to the Well Marked Low Pressure Area that concentrated into a Depression and lay centred, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over Odisha districts during next seven days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted today.

In its evening bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over westcentral and adjoining areas of eastcentral and south Bay of Bengal moved westnorthwestwards, concentrated into a Depression and lay centred at 0830 hours IST of today, the 15th November over westcentral Bay of Bengal near latitude 14.5°N and longitude 86.8°E, about 510 km southeast of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 650 km southsoutheast of Paradip (Odisha) and 790 km south of Digha (West Bengal). It is likely to move initially northwestwards, then northnorthwestwards and intensify into a Deep Depression over westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast in the morning of 16th November. Thereafter, it would recurve northnortheastwards and reach over Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast on 17th morning and off north Odisha-West Bengal coasts on 18th November morning.”

Dense fog occurred at Bhawanipatna, Phulbani and Rourkela. Minimum temperatures observed no large change over the districts of Odisha. They were below normal at one or two places over the districts of Odisha, appreciably above normal at one or two places, above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.

For Wednesday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 16.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Khurda, Cuttack, Kandhamal and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Thursday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 17.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh & at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Jajpur, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Rayagada and at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Boudh, Angul, Kalahandi and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri and Cuttack.
