Bhubaneswar: Due to the prevalent monsoon trough, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha during next 48 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre today issued Orange Warning in some districts of the State for next two days.

In its evening bulletin, the IMD regional centre mentioned, “The cyclonic circulation over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off North Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts and extends up to 7.6 Km above mean sea level tilting southward with height. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over the same region during next 24 Hours. The system is likely to concentrate into a Depression over the same region around 26th July 2023. Subsequently, it is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards across north Andhra Pradesh-South Odisha coasts.”

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and at many places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Highest maximum (day) temperature of 34.4oC was recorded at Jharsuguda and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 21.4oC was recorded at Nuapada in the plains of Odisha.

Orange Warning (Be Prepared)- Heavy to is very heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj.
