Low pressure intensifies, heavy rainfall likely across Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a well marked low pressure which is likely to trigger heavy rainfall across Odisha, the Regional Meteorological Centre predicted.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a few places over districts of south Odisha with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places over Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Nuapada and Nabarangpur districts with heavy rainfall at one or two places over Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur and Bargarh on July 15, a bulletin of the Meteorological Centre said.

Similarly, on July 16, heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Balangir, Nabarangpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Sambalpur and Boudh districts, the bulletin added.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea during the next 48 hours.
