Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal around July 19, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.

As per the agency, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal around July 16. Subsequently, a low pressure area may develop over the same region around July 19.

The IMD further predicted that the low pressure area is likely to intensify into a depression over the same region during the next 48 hours and subsequently move west-northwestward towards central India across Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

The system is likely to trigger heavy rainfall in Odisha.

The Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued rainfall warning (Yellow Warning) for several districts of the state.
