Low pressure likely to form over BoB adjoining Odisha coast around August 7

Bhubaneswar: A low pressure system is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal (BoB) and its adjoining areas along Odisha coast around August 7, SOA-managed Centre of Environment and Climate (CEC) here forecasted today.

A trough which is very likely to form around August 4 and August 5 will gradually convert into low pressure, the CEC in Bhubaneswar clarified.

It may take the shape of a Depression and then Deep Depression towards August 9, a bulletin issued by the CEC in this regard stated.

According to the weather bulletin, coastal and South Odisha districts will likely witness very heavy rain in between August 7 and August 9. Heavy rain is likely to occur at many places over the districts of North and Interior Odisha, thereafter.

Dry weather is to prevail till August 3 and light to moderate rain or thundershower may occur at some places in the State later on.

Besides, farmers are advised to carry out planting of paddy seedlings during heavy rains.
