Low pressure may form around Oct 13, reach Odisha-Andhra coasts around Oct 15

Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is likely to form over east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Andaman Sea around October 13, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted today.

It is likely to move west-northwestwards and reach south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts as a well marked low pressure area around October 15.

The cyclonic circulation over north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood persists and now extends up to 3.1 km above mean sea level. Since the cyclonic circulation is remaining practically stationary over the same region, the formation of low pressure area is getting delayed, the agency said.

Earlier, it was forecasted that the system may intensify into a cyclonic storm and head towards south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts.
