Low Pressure over Bay of Bengal by tomorrow; Know its possible impact

Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea by tomorrow, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.

It is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal by 7th December morning. Thereafter, it is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and reach southwest Bay of Bengal near north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry & adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts by 8th December morning, the IMD predicted.

As the expected low pressure system moves towards southwest Bay of Bengal, enhanced rainfall activity is likely to commence over north coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and south coast Andhra Pradesh from 7th December mid-night. It is likely to increase with rainfall at most places with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over north Tamil Nadu & Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh on 8th December, the agency said.
