Low pressure to trigger heavy rainfall in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here has predicted heavy rainfall for as many as 10 districts across the state for two days from June 28 under the influence of a low pressure likely to form over north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhoood around June 30.

As per a bulletin issued by the regional MeT centre, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Sundergarh, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara, Nabarangpur and Koraput on June 28 and 29.

Besides, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places in districts like Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Nuapada and at few other places in interior and coastal Odisha till 8.30 am on June 28.

Yesterday, the highest temperature of 38.2 degree Celcius was recorded at Talcher while Sundergarh recorded the lowest temperature of 21 degree Celsius.
