Bhubaneswar: Opposing the Centre's decision to raise the subsidised domestic LPG cylinder price by Rs 4 each month to finally eliminate subsidies by March next year, the Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD) today staged a protest near Raj Bhavan in Odisha capital.

BMJD leaders also submitted a memorandum to Governor SC Jamir addressing the President of India, informed BMJD president Pramila Mallick.

"A memorandum was submitted by us to the Governor hoping that the Centre will withdraw its decision. The agitation will be intensified in all districts, blocks and wards if the decision is not rolled back," said Mallick.

It has also decided to stage agitation in front of the office of district collectors on August 8.
