L&T, PPT among 25 firms donate for Cyclone FANI-hit Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Country’s leading multinational conglomerate firm L&T and state-owned Paradip Port Trust (PPT) contributed for the relief and restoration works in the cyclone FANI-hit Odisha.

The two major firms were among 25 others that donated a total amount of Rs 31,60,44,504 extending helping hand for the cyclonic storm-affected coastal districts.

L&T Director Shailendra Roy handed over a cheque of Rs 15 crore to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Secretariat yesterday for the victims.

While PPT and Allhabad Bank donated Rs 5 crore each, other firms including United Bank of India, NABARD, JK Paper Ltd, VIVO Odisha and Utkal Grameen Bank donated Rs 2,60,19,902, Rs 1,30,81,089, Rs 1.30 crore, Rs 25 lakh and Rs 22,05,001 respectively.

Similarly, other firms and organisations including Berhampur KC Trust Managing Committee contributed an amount of Rs 21,200, Rourkela Chambers of Commerce Rs 8.11 lakh, Bomikhal Senior Citizen Welfare Forum Rs 25,000, Andhra Bank Retired Employees Welfare Union Rs 1,36,655, Red Cross Rs 1 lakh, Theosophical Order of Service (Odisha) Rs 1 lakh, Rama Devi Women’s University Rs 1,57,720 and Odisha Retired Police Officer’s Association Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for FANI assistance.
