Bhubaneswar, Apr 22:
Senior Congress leader and former Brahmagiri MLA Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra (Lulu) today levelled a fresh set of allegations against Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare (FS &CW) Minister Sanjay Das Burma without naming him.
Speaking to reporters today, Mohapatra shot a barrage of questions and said that he is seeking answers from the man involved without naming anyone. Obvious target was Sanjay Das Burma given the recent politics surrounding Pajero cars and Das Burma’s alleged links with chit fund firms.
“My questions are: Whose hotel room in Puri’s Holiday Resort was raided on the eve of elections based on a direction from the Election Commission? Who had been arrested? How much cash had been seized from that room? Who all were present in that room? Was there a newspaper owner among those present? Who paid the hotel bill and from whose account,” questioned Lulu.
He also levelled financial misappropriation allegations against Das Burma’s Nilachal Builders and said that it received funds from Matrubhumi chit fund company through a State Bank of India account. Besides, his company procured government land in Sonepur and Bolangir districts at extremely low rates using fraudulent means, alleged Lulu.
“Who has been given two acres of IDCO land? How much of that land has been barricaded? What were the terms and conditions and who all are involved in this project including the brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws,” he added.
Minister Das Burma was not available for comment.
