Bhubaneswar: As the Ekamra Kshetra is gearing up for Mahashivratri celebration scheduled on March 11 this year, the Lingaraj Temple Administration has fixed the timing of Mahadeep as well as other rituals at the centuries old shrine.

As per the decision at a meeting attended by the officials of temple administration, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Commissionerate Police and servitor bodies, the Mahadeep of Lord Lingaraj will be raised atop the temple at 10.00 PM on Mahashivratri.

The meeting was held today to discuss the preparation for smooth conduct of rituals of Lord Shiva at the Lingaraj Temple with strict adherence of COVID rules.

The emphasis was laid on making arrangement for lakhs of devotees on premises of the temple on the auspicious occasion in the evening.

As per the decision, the devotees will not be allowed to sit together on the temple complex for lighting the diyas (lamps). The arrangement will also be made for smooth exit of devotees from the campus before Mahadeep atop the temple.
