Mahipur-Nuagaon railway section of Khurda Road-Balangir project completed: ECoR

Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) today stated construction of the much-awaited Mahipur-Nuagaon Railway Section of the ongoing Khurda Road-Balangir rail line project has been completed and awaits for a clearance from the Commissioner of Railway Safety for commissioning. The Khurda Road-Bypass Line has also been completed.

Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) South Eastern Circle, Kolkata will inspect the 13.050 kms-long rail line between Mahipur to Nuagaon stations of the ongoing Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line project on March 23, 2022. Similarly, 3.099-km long Khurda Road Bypass Line will be inspected on March 24, 2022 by the CRS. All safety-related works in the new line will be inspected and thoroughly checked before commissioning, the ECoR added.

Keeping in view of the inspection, the ECoR decided to cancel 18424 Nayagarh Town-Bhubaneswar Express on March 23, 2022 i.e. Wednesday for movement of different machineries and inspection trains in the section.
