Major bureaucratic reshuffle in Odisha: Shalini Pandit new Health Secretary, Subha Sarma W&CD Secretary

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today appointed new Secretaries to several departments in a major bureaucratic reshuffle in the state.

The state government has shifted Excise department Principal Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh and directed Energy department Principal Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal to look after the former’s department as an additional responsibility.

Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts department Commissioner-Cum-Secretary Subha Sarma has been made the new Commissioner-Cum-Secretary to Women and Child Development department.

Sarma has replaced Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, who has been given the additional charge of Commissioner-Cum-Secretary of Science and Technology department apart from the responsibility of Commissioner-Cum-Secretary to Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities department.

Incumbent Commissioner-Cum-Secretary to Science and Technology department Suresh Kumar Vashishth has been appointed as the Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Fisheries and Animal Resources Development department.

Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment department Principal Secretary Arabinda Kumar Padhee has been given the additional charge of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts department.

National Health Mission Director Shalini Pandit has been appointed as the new Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Health and Family Welfare department.

OSMCL MD Brundha D has been made as the new Director National Health Mission. Brundha has been allowed to remain in additional charge of MD OSMCL and Food Safety Commissioner of Odisha.

ST&SC Development Director Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar has been appointed as Additional Secretary to Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water department with additional charge of ORMAS CEO.

Special Secretary to Commerce and Transport department Sanjay Kumar Mishra has been given the additional charge of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of OPTCL.

Special Secretary to Finance department Saroj Kumar Mishra has been appointed as Special Secretary to Health and Family Welfare department with additional charge of Special Secretary to Home (Protocol) department.
