Major IAS reshuffle in Odisha: Sanjay Singh new BMC Commissioner

Bhubaneswar: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle in Odisha, IAS officer Sanjay Kumar Singh was appointed as the Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) replacing Prem Chandra Chaudhary.

The 1997-batch IAS Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh is currently serving Odisha Government as the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Skill Development & Technical Education Department with Additional charge as Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

He is allowed to remain in additional charge of Vice Chairman, Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and CEO of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited in addition to his own duties.

Similarly, IAS Officer Hemant Sharma (1995 batch), presently serving as the Principal Secretary of Industries Department with additional charge of Chairman, IPICOL, is allowed to remain in additional charge of Principal Secretary of Skill Development & Technical Education Department in addition to his own duties.

Moreover, the 1995-batch IAS Officer Bishnupada Sethi has been allowed to remain in additional charge of Principal Secretary of I&PR Department in addition to his own duties. He is currently serving as the Principal Secretary of Revenue & Disaster Management Department with additional charge of Principal Secretary of Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department.

With additional appointment of IAS Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh as Commissioner-cum-Secretary of I&PR Department shall stand terminated from the date Bishnupada Sethi takes over, the General Administration & Public Grievance GA&PG) Department said in a release.

IAS Officer Prem Chandra Chaudhary (2010 batch), who is currently serving as the BMC Commissioner with additional charge of Vice Chairman of BDA and CEO of Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd. is appointed as Officer on Special Duty of GA&PG Department.

Besides, Krishan Kumar (RR-2002) Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Works Department with Additional charges of Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Puri and Chairman of Puri-Konark Development Authority is allowed to remain in additional charge of CMD, IDCO in addition to his own duties.

The additional appointment of IAS Officer Sanjay Singh as the CMD, IDCO shall stand terminated from the date Krishan Kumar assumes the office.
