Major IPS reshuffle in Odisha: Sanjeeb Panda new police commissioner for twin cities

Bhubaneswar: The state government today effected a major reshuffle in the IPS cadre ahead of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha.

Sanjeeb Panda, a 1994-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the new police commissioner of the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Panda is now working as the Director, Intelligence with additional charge of CMD, OPHWC.

Panda replaced Saumendra Priyadarsi (1995 batch), who has been transferred and posted as the Director, Intelligence in Odisha, said a notification of the Home department today.

Santosh Bala (1995 batch), who is now working as the Special Secretary to Home department, has been allowed to remain in additional charge of CMD, OPHWC.

Himanshu Kumar Lal (2003 batch), who is working as Inspector General of Police (IGP) Eastern Range at Balasore, has been transferred and posted as the IGP of North Range at Sambalpur.

Deepak Kumar (2004 batch), the incumbent IGP North Range, has been shifted and posted as IGP North Central Range at Talcher with additional charge of PTC, Angul.

Satyabrata Bhoi (2004 batch), the incumbent IGP of Southern Range at Berhampur, has been shifted and appointed as IG Eastern Range at Balasore.

EOW and STF IG JN Pankaj (2005) has been appointed as the new IGP of Southern Range at Berhampur. However, Pankaj will hold the additional charge of the IGP, EOW and STF, added the notification.

Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh (2010 batch) has been shifted and appointed as the DCP of Cuttack.

Incumbent Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra (2011 batch) has been made the new SP of Puri.

Banoth Jugal Kishore Kumar (2011 batch), who is now working as Additional IGP, Police Headquarters, will be the new SP of Kendrapara.

Incumbent Kendrapara SP Madkar Sandeep Sampat (2012 batch) will be the new SP of Dhenkanal.

Vivekananda Sharma (2014 batch), the incumbent Rayagada SP, has been transferred and posted as Additional IGP, Police Headquarters.

Dhenkanal SP Gyana Ranjan Mohapatra (OPS) has been transferred and appointed as SP Special Branch in Bhubaneswar.

Similarly, Sonepur SP Amaresh Kumar Panda (OPS) has been posted as Additional IGP, State Police Headquarters, in the IPS reshuffle.

Deogarh SP PK Mishra (OPS) has been transferred and given the new assignment as SRP, Rourkela.

According to the notification, Rama Prasad Sahoo (OPS), the incumbent Special Brach SP, will be the new SP of Deogarh.

IPS officer Harisha BC (2020 batch), who is now working as SDPO Jeypore, has been transferred and posted as Rayagada SP.

Baliguda SDPO, Yashpratap Shrimal (2020 batch IPS officer) will be the new SP of Sonepur, said the notification.
