Bhubaneswar: 'Make in Odisha', an initiative launched by the state government during Naveen Patnaik-led BJD regime for industrial growth in Odisha, is likely to be renamed soon.
After chairing a meeting here today, Odisha Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said that the state government is planning to get an investment of Rs 2.5 lakh crore at the Utkal Investors' summit, hinting at renaming the 'successful' Make in Odisha initiative.
"The government will emphasize startup and the industrial corridor will be developed by 2027," he added.
Worth mentioning that Odisha had received an overall investment proposal worth Rs 10.5 lakh crore with an employment potential for 10,37,701 people in Make in Odisha Conclave 2022.
During a 3-day event, the Make in Odisha Conclave 2022 witnessed registration from 18785 delegates, including global leaders, industry captains, exhibitors, and participants from 11 countries which were Japan, Germany, Norway, Nepal, Bangladesh, Australia, Indonesia, Israel, China, Singapore and Thailand.
The then CM Naveen Patnaik had termed the Make in Odisha Conclave’22 a 'grand success'.
The first Make in Odisha conclave was organised in November 2016. The first edition of the event had received 28 proposals worth Rs 18,434 crore investment with a capacity of generating 27,565 jobs.
