Making casteist remark proves costly for college clerk in Odisha

Sundargarh: A clerk of Sarbati Devi Women’s College in Rajgangpur area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district has been placed under suspension for allegedly making casteist remarks against a woman employee of the educational institution.

The clerk, identified as Panu Charan Paikray, was suspended after the woman staffer lodged a complaint with police against the college principal, a teacher and the clerk. She has alleged that the three were making casteist remarks against her besides misbehaving with the complainant.

On the other hand, the college managing committee has written to the Odisha Government for transfer of the principal.
