Mamita Meher murder case: Narasingha Mishra to don lawyer’s coat!

Balangir: Taking cognizance of murder of woman schoolteacher Mamita Meher, senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra is mulling to don lawyer’s coat for justice to deceased’s family.

Octogenarian Mishra, who is a lawyer by profession, apart from being a politician, informed that he will step into the courtroom to fight for the justice if the family of deceased woman gives him the charge of the case.

Standing by Mamita’s family, he said that all sorts of legal aids will be provided to them.

“I have told the family of deceased woman that currently I am not into the practice. If required, I will fight for the family,” the 81-year-old legislator, who is representing Balangir Assembly Constituency, said today.

“If such incident occurs, as a lawyer, I will file a PIL in the court in the sensational murder case,”

He demanded resignation of Home Minister Captain Dibyashankar Mishra for his alleged involvement in the case.

“We have demanded the police to probe Minister Dibyashakar’s alleged link in the case. I advise him to tender resignation from his post as he is the Minister of State (Home) and allegations have surfaced against him. He may become minister again after getting clean chit in the case,” Mishra said.

Mamita Meher, a teacher at Sunshine Public School in Mahaling of Kalahandi district and resident of Jharni village under Tureikela Block in Balangir district, was killed and her body was buried underground at under-construction stadium near the school.

Balangir Police has arrested prime accused Govind Sahu, the founder of the school, in the case.
