Mamita Meher murder case: Odisha SCW head to visit Mahaling

Bhubaneswar: In probe into Mamita Meher murder case, Odisha State Commission for Women Chairperson Minati Behera is scheduled to visit Mahaling in Kalahandi district to review the situation.

Source said that Behera will make visit to the site where body of Mamita Meher was dumped underground.

She will submit a report to the State Government following her visit.

Mamita Meher, the 24-year-old woman, was working as teacher at the Sunshine Public School in Mahaling. She had gone missing since October 8. Her body was recovered from an under construction stadium near the school on October 19.

Balangir Police has arrested Govind Sahu, the President of the school, on charges of murder. Reportedly, he confessed to his crime before the police.

Meanwhile, the opposition parties Congress and BJD have been demanding dismissal of Minister of State (Home) Captain Dibyashankar Mishra alleging his involvement in the murder case.

Yesterday, Leader of Opposition Pradipta Naik demanded to bring call detail records of the minister and the prime accused under purview of the investigation.
