Man attacked by his nephews over family feud in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj, dies

Kaptipada: Two youths allegedly killed their paternal uncle (father’s younger brother) by attacking him with a lathi and a sharp weapon over a family feud at Colony Sahi locality under Kaptipada police limits in Mayurbhanj district, today evening.

The deceased was identified as Rabindra Tiria, the younger brother of Kambhuram Tiria.

According to a source, the first wife of Rabindra’s elder brother has two sons. They were staying in the same house where the second wife and other members were residing. Rabindra had been opposing this and scolded the elder brother’s first wife and her two sons earlier in the day.

Things took an ugly turn when, in a fit of rage, the youths attacked him to death near a farmland. They returned home soon after committing the crime.

Some locals spotted the body lying in a pool of blood and informed the local police.

A team of Kaptipada police reached the crime spot and seized the weapons. Later, police arrested the accused and launched a probe into the alleged murder, which is underway.
