Man attacked with sharp weapons in Odisha capital; hospitalised

Bhubaneswar: A person was critically injured after he was attacked with sharp weapons by a group of miscreants in Odisha capital here today.

The incident took place at Airport Traffic Square in the city here in the evening.

A group of around 30 miscreants attacked the person with sharp weapons near a garage at Airport Traffic Square following a brief argument. The victim sustained grievous injuries on his hand, head and other parts of the body.

The injured person, identified as Madan Maharana aka Shiva, has been rushed to Capital Hospital, sources said.

On being informed, the Airfield police reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.

It is being suspected that the person might have been attacked due to either past enmity or a land dispute, said a source.

However, the police are yet to cite any reason behind the incident.
