Man beats mother to death in Odisha village

Keonjhar: A heated argument between a 30-year-old man and his mother over some trivial issues led to an ugly end after the former killed the elderly woman at Munda Sahi of Banabiharipur village under Telkoi police limits in Kendujhar district last night.

However, police have arrested the accused identified as Duburu Munda and are interrogating him in this connection.

Reportedly, at around 9 pm yesterday, the accused started scolding his mother Tulei Munda (66) alleging that she is not providing food to his children properly. The situation turned violent when he went on slapping and kicking his mother. The woman suffered grievous injuries when the man dragged her by her hair and later smashed her head against against the ground.

Early this morning, Duburu’s daughter found her grandmother dead and raised an alarm.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and arrested the accused. Further investigation in this connection is underway, said police.
