Nabarangpur: In heart-wrenching incident, a man allegedly beheaded his wife before ending his life at Bhandimal village under Kodinga police limits in Nabarangpur district.

However, the reason behind the man taking this extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

The couple identified as Niladhara Jani and Parbati were residents of Dumarada village under Dabugaon police station. Reportedly, they had visited a relative's house at Bhandimal and were staying there for the last couple of days.

This morning, Parbati was found dead with severed head on the road and her husband hanging from a tree in the nearby, around 100 metre away from their relative's house.

Circumstantial evidence suggest that Niladhara beheaded his wife over some issue and later hanged himself to death. On receiving information, Kodinga police rushed  to the spot and initiated a probe into the incident.
