Man commits suicide after hacking wife to death in Odisha

Balangir: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly hacked his wife to death and committed suicide by hanging himself over family feud here last night.

The deceased man identified as Kuparchand Bachha, a resident of Colonypada village under Bangamunda police limits, was found hanging with a ‘gamucha’ (cotton cloth) in a room of the house. His wife Kaikai Bachha was found lying on the floor in a pool of blood in another room.

According to reports, Kuparchand and his wife had altercation few months back over some famly issues following which the latter went to her father’s house at Talchakel village in Balangir district.

She returned her home on Friday and no argument took place between the couple.

However, on Sunday night Kuparchand allegedly hacked his wife with a hatchet over some issues and he hung himself after killing his wife.

Police reached the spot after getting information from the family members. The bodies have been sent for the postmortem.

Although, exact reason behind the incident is yet to be clear, police suspected family feud was the cause behind the deaths.
