Man dies in Odisha hospital; COVID-19 suspected

Cuttack: A person has died while undergoing treatment at a special Corona ward of the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack late on Saturday night.

The deceased aged about 58 years is the resident of Badamba area in Cuttack district.

Reportedly, the person with no travel history was suspected to have been infected with novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The SCB authorities have sent his swab sample for COVID-19 test.

The patient was suffering from various ailments. He was brought to the SCB from a private hospital in Bhubaneswar in critical condition on Saturday night, but died. As he was undergoing treatment at Corona Quarantine Ward of the hospital, his swab sample has been sent for COVID-19 test. His body will be handed over to family after receiving test report, said SCB Superintendent Dr. Annada Prasad Patnaik.
