Man disguises as his girlfriend to appear for her exams

Dakar/Bhubaneswar: In a bizarre incident, a Senegalese student was detained for disguising himself as his girlfriend in a bid to appear for the national examinations on her behalf.

The student identified as Khadim Mboup and his girlfriend, both of Gaston Berger University in the north of Senegal, were placed under arrest by the authorities.

The 22 years old Mboup disguised himself as his girlfriend with make-up, headscarf, and jewellery and attempted to sit for her exams as he feared she could not pass.

Photos of Mboup went viral on social media. The pictures depict him wearing a red dress with black patterns, a matching veil, and a black shawl to deceive the exam invigilators.

The officials caught him on the third day of the exams during the English test when they suspected foul play.

The invigilators reported him to the police who arrested him and his girlfriend who was waiting for him at her hostel.

According to local news reports, if the couple is charged with cheating and forgery, they would be barred from appearing in any national examination for five years and their diploma would be confiscated. There is also a possibility of a five-year jail term, as per reports.
