Man distributes free petrol to celebrate birth of baby girl in family

Madhya Pradesh: At a time when prices of petrol and diesel are soaring record high in the country, a man in Madhya Pradesh distributed free petrol to customers to celebrate the birth of a girl child in his family.

Overjoyed at the fact that his hearing and speech-impaired niece gave birth to a baby girl, Rajendra Sainani, who owns a petrol pump in Betul, gave extra fuel to customers.

“I am overwhelmed with joy as my hearing and speech-impaired niece gave birth to a girl child on October 9,” news agency PTI said quoting the petrol pump owner.

“10 % extra petrol was distributed among the customers from 9am to 11am and from 5pm to 7 pm between October 13 and October 15. Customers, who bought petrol worth Rs 100, were offered 5 per cent extra fuel. Those, who purchased petrol worth Rs 200-Rs 500, were given 10 % extra,” he explained.

Petrol and diesel prices continued to rise across the country for the third consecutive day on Saturday. In Delhi, petrol and diesel prices increased by 35 paise to Rs 105.49 and Rs 94.22 per litre, respectively.
