Man electrocuted in Odisha

Police today recovered the body of a 35-year-old man from Patrapali area at Nuagaon under Bisra police station limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, who died after coming in contact with a live wire last night.

The body, identified as Digambar Mahato, was later handed over to the family members after post mortem.

Bisra police of Rourkela recovered body of a 35 year old person from Patrapali area on Thursday  who had died on Wednesday night after coming in contact with a high voltage electric wire. Police have conducted post mortem of the body and have handed over the same to his family members.

According to police, the deceased was on his way with his bike when he came in contact with a live wire, which had fallen on the ground, and died on the spot.

The incident took place at about 8.30 PM.

Though the locals informed the Bisra police, the latter did not go to the spot since it was a Maoist-prone area.

However, a police team, led by the IIC of Bisra police station Sushant Das and electricity department staff went to the spot.  Police later recovered the body after the electricity staff disconnected the power.
