Man falls into drain during new year celebration in Odisha’s Angul, dies

Angul: A 55-year-old man fell into a drain during new year celebration at Pokatunga village under Angul block of Odisha last night while his body was found this morning.

The deceased was identified as Mangulu Gochhayat of the village.

According to reports, Mangulu had participated in a feast which was organised in the locality yesterday on the occasion of new year. He consumed liquor during the celebration.

While returning home, he fell into a drain and drowned.

As his body was found in the drain this morning, police reached the spot, recovered it for post-mortem and started an investigation.

A pall of gloom descended on the village after the tragic incident.
