Deogarh: A man was fined Rs 1 lakh for violating Covid guidelines by organizing a marriage feast for over 800 people in Odisha’s Deogarh district today.

One Kulan Toppno from Kamala Bagicha village under Deogarh police limits arranged a feast to celebrate his son, Amit Toppno’s marriage today afternoon. More than 800 invitees reportedly attended the marriage feast.

After receiving information from sources, Deogarh Tahsildar Pallabi Nayak and local police officials raided the marriage feast venue.

For violating the Covid guidelines the local administration imposed the fine of Rs 1 lakh on Kulan, father of the groom.

It is worth to be mentioned that the government has put a limit of 100 persons to attend a marriage function in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.
