Man hacks 60-YO mother to death in Odisha

Jajpur: Expressing outrage over disturbed personal life, a man killed his mother in Binjharpur area of Jajpur district in Odisha.

The accused has been identified as Gopal Ojha, a resident of Bindhani village under Binjharpur police limits.

According to reports, Gopal killed his mother Premalata Ojha, wife of Sukdev Ojha, over family dispute late on Saturday night.

Sources said that the 40-year-old Gopal Ojha was unmarried. He is suspected to have hacked his 60-year-old mother to death with a billhook out of extreme anger due to family issues for which he could not get married.

Following murder, the accused had absconded from the scene yesterday night. The local police nabbed him from Bidapada village today morning and detained him at the police station for interrogation.

The body of deceased woman has been sent to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
