Man hacks infant son to death in Odisha

Nabarangpur: In a bizarre and shocking incident, a man in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district today hacked his two and a half-year-old son to death with an axe.

The brutal incident took place when Sonu Gonda of Katualapara village in Bobei panchayat under Raighar block of Nabarangpur district all of a sudden hacked the child with an axe around noon while he was playing in the courtyard of their house, reports said.

Sonu even attacked his wife, while she resisted him in his brutal act.

Later Sonu, who was overpowered by fellow villagers, was handed over to the police.

Raighar police have arrested Sonu, reports added.

Villagers said that Sonu was mentally disturbed for few days.
