Man hangs self after friend’s suicide in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: A man allegedly hanged himself after his friend’s suicide at Sahupada under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district, today.

The deceased have been identified as Trilochan Sahu (45) and Kirti Jena (35).

According to reports, Trilochan was found hanging inside his fabrication unit this morning around 11 am. Kirti, on being informed about his friend’s death, rushed to the spot and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.

Kirti later returned home, where he reportedly had a verbal duel with his wife as she insisted him to change clothes and not to touch other articles at home as it is considered inauspicious. He then entered inside a room and allegedly hanged self. Later, his family members recovered the body.

The incident has sent shockwaves in the area. Though the reason behind the extreme step by the two is yet to be ascertained, police have registered two different unnatural death cases into the matter and started investigation.
