OST Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Jan 27:

One person was arrested for hurling bombs at the District and Sessions Court here today, reports said.

According to reports, a man identified as Upendra Mohanty hurled three bombs in quick succession inside the CBI court located inside the Sessions court premises. The CBI judge Manoj Kumar Panda was, however, not present in the court room.

Lawyers who were present at the spot chased the culprit and overpowered him. He was later handed over to the Badagad police, sources added.

The 63-year old Mohanty was jailed twice earlier for hurling bombs inside the premises of the Supreme Court as well as the SDJM court. He appears to have been suffering from psychiatric disorder, a senior lawyer said.

There have been damages to the office of the CBI court but thankfully no one has been hurt in the bomb attack.

More details are awaited.
