Man impersonating Odisha minister arrested for collecting ‘chanda’

Bargarh: The district police today arrested a person for allegedly impersonating Odisha Rural Development Minister Sushant Singh and collecting chanda (donations) from government officials.

The arrested has been identified as Sushant Ranjit of Deogarh district. The accused had created a fake Facebook account of the minister, through which he used to communicate with the government officials and demand donations, reports said.

He had collected around Rs 3 lakh from several officials in a fraudulent manner. Police have seized three mobile phones, a debit card and a bank passbook from his possession.
