Cuttack: High drama unfolded at Kathajodi bridge in Odisha's Cuttack city today as a man jumped into the river from the bridge after reportedly having an argument with his wife.

As per eyewitnesses, the man was travelling with his wife and child on a motorcycle. He stopped the vehicle on the bridge where he had an altercation with his wife. Moments later, he jumped into Kathajodi river.

On being informed about the incident, an ODRAF team reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. Till last reports came in, the person, identified as Jagadananda of Karanja village in Niali area of Cuttack district, was yet to be traced.

On the other hand, police have detained the wife of the man for questioning.
