Man killed over dispute in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A man was allegedly killed over a dispute at Kumuda village under Ghasipura police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district last night. The deceased has been identified as Dibakar Naik (45).

According to reports, Dibakar yesterday tried to rescue a woman of the locality when she was being thrashed by one Ayodhya Naik of the village. Later in the evening, Ayodhya’s son Sipu and his associates attacked Dibakar and strangulated him to death at a secluded place.

The accused later dumped the body at nearby farmland. On being informed about the incident, police reached the village and detained Sipu for questioning.

The body has been recovered for post-mortem while further investigation by police was underway.
