Man killed, wife critical as bus hits bike in Odisha’s Sonepur

Bhubaneswar: A man died and his wife sustained critical injuries when a private bus hit their motorcycle on National Highway-57 in Sonepur district of Odisha today.

The deceased has been identified as Duhshasan Sahu of Baghapali village in Sonepur.

The passenger bus hit the couple’s bike from rear near Sialjuri when they were returning home from a nearby place in the wee hours of today, sources said.

The locals rescued the duo and rushed them to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition. The couple was later shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla in Sambalpur district.

Sahu died on the way to VIMSAR while his wife Kunti is now battling for life at the premier healthcare institute, sources added.
