Man killed, wife critical as pickup van hits bike in Odisha’s Angul

Angul: A person died and his wife sustained critical injuries after the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a pickup van on NH-55 near Badakera in Odisha’s Angul district today.

Jitu Sahu of Tubey village in the district and his wife were returning home from the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) on the two-wheeler when a speeding pickup van collided head-on with the bike leaving the duo grievously injured.

Locals rescued the two and rushed them to the DHH, where Jitu was declared dead. Police have seized the two vehicles and started investigation into the incident.
