Man killed, wife critical in bomb attack by miscreants in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Rairangpur: A man was killed and his wife was seriously wounded after some miscreants hurled bombs at the couple’s house allegedly over past enmity late on Friday night here.

The deceased was identified as Badha Baske (35), a resident of Charana village under Jamda police limits in the Mayurbhanj district. His wife Makra Baske (33) lost one of her eyes in the incident. She was rushed to Rairangpur Subdivision hospital in critical condition.

According to reports, Badha along with her wife Makra had been staying at his in-laws home at Chatani Sahi under Jamda police limits in the past few days. The miscreants hurled two bombs at the house at around 11.30 pm while the couple was sleeping. Badha died on the spot following severe bleeding from his head.

On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot and launched investigation.

Although past enmity is suspected behind the bomb attack, the deceased’s wife denied it.
