Man kills brother over land dispute in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: In a shocking incident, a man was allegedly killed by his younger brother over land dispute at Kantapada village under Sadar police limits in Jagatsinghpur district yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Chakradhar Swain.

Sources said a heated argument was exchanged between Chakradhar and his younger brother Thukra over land issue last evening. In a fit of rage, Thukra attacked Chakradhar with a sharp weapon and fled the spot.

Chakradhar was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) here and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. However, he died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Meanwhile, police have begun a manhunt to nab the accused, sources said.
