Man kills cousin over family dispute in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: A man allegedly killed his cousin following an altercation over family dispute at Basudebpur village under Pattapur police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district last night.

The deceased has been identified as Kulu Pradhan (25), son of Kansa Pradhan of the village.

According to reports, the altercation between Kulu Pradhan and accused cousin started at around 8.30 pm on Friday over some missing bricks lying near his uncle (father’s elder brother Prakash Pradhan).

The accused alleged that the bricks were taken by Kulu Pradhan’s family members for some construction work.

During stand-off, Kulu was attacked with a crowbar due to which he sustained critical injury on his head. He was admitted to the Adapada CHC where the doctors declared him dead.

On receiving information, Pattapur police reached the hospital and initiated probe into the incident.

The family members of deceased sought stringent action against the accused and his family for the murder.

“My brother is no more. Prakash Pradhan’s sons Budu Pradhan, Mithun Pradhan, Santosh Pradhan along with their mother killed my brother. I want justice and appropriate action against the killers,” said younger brother of the deceased.
