Man kills elder brother over family feud in Odisha  

Nayagarh: Family dispute led to an ugly fallout at Chadheipalli village under Sarankul police limits in Nayagarh district after a youth killed his elder brother while he was sleeping last night.

However, the accused identified as Dhaneswar Sahu (25) surrendered before police this morning.

Sources said Dhaneswar hacked his brother Kubera (36) to death with an axe while the latter was sleeping at the terrace of the house last night. Kubera died on the spot. Later, Kubera’s wife lodged a complaint with Sarankula police station. However, accused Dhaneswar surrendered before the police late last night.

While villagers alleged that the two brothers had been embroiled in a spat since long, police are investigating the death from various angles. Meanwhile, the body has been sent to hospital for post-mortem .
