Man kills wife, buries body in Odisha’s Sundargarh

Sundargarh: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly murdered his wife and buried the body at Sabadega village under Talsara police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

Though the accused, identified as Khairu Nayak, committed the crime on Saturday, the incident came to fore today as he confessed about the act before some villagers.

According to reports, the locals noticed the absence of the woman in the locality as she was working as a maid in several houses of the village. Suspecting foul play, they questioned her husband following which he admitted that he killed her and buried the body at the backyard of his house.

On being informed by villagers, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Khairu was detained by the cops for questioning.

Though the reason behind the extreme step by the accused was yet to be ascertained, locals said he had an extramarital affair with a woman and the killing might have been a fallout of the matter.
