Man, mother-in-law held for killing gaon sathi in Odisha’s Sundargarh

Sundargarh: Police today arrested a man and his mother-in-law for allegedly murdering a gaon sathi at Bhawanipur village under Sundargarh Town police limits.

The accused have been identified as Bhaja Oram and Madhabilata Singh.

According to reports, the woman was having an illicit affair with deceased Ramesh Singh and her son-in-law was opposing it. In order to eliminate Ramesh, the accused duo hatched a plan and invited him to a feast that was arranged at the woman’s house.

While Ramesh was having liquor at the feast, the woman attacked him with a sharp weapon and slitted his throat, thereby killing him on the spot. Bhaja and Madhabilata then cut the body into several pieces by severing the hands and legs. Later, they threw the body parts into a pond.

The chopped body parts with a severed head were found in the pond on January 15.
