Man murders wife, hangs himself

A man allegedly hanged himself to death after killing his wife Saturday night in Mundabedhi village under Raighar police limits in Nabarangpur district, police said today.

Kautuka Harijan of Mundabedhi village allegedly killed his wife Tarabai by slamming her with an iron blow pipe used for stoking fires in hearths and committed suicide by hanging himself with a lungi thereafter, Raighara police said.

Kautuka suspected his wife of having an extra-marital affair and the couple had regular fights over the issue, sources said.

Sources said Kautuka had been beating his wife regularly.
The police have registered two cases and started investigation, sources added.
