Man-nephew arrested for peddling contraband in Odisha

Bargarh, Jan 29:

Local police today seized around 26 kg marijuana and arrested two persons in Odisha’s Bargarh district for their alleged involvement in peddling of the contraband.

Acting on reliable inputs, Barpali police intercepted a private bus and seized the huge quantity of ganja this morning. The accused were travelling in the bus and were on their way to Bargarh when it was stopped near women’s college here.

Police arrested an uncle-nephew duo identified as Nilakantha Mahananda and Binod Sagaria hailing from Muthapalli village in Kandhamal district. Nilakantha is Binod’s maternal uncle.

The two have been arrested under several sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and will be forwarded to court tomorrow, sources said.
