Man serving life imprisonment escapes from jail in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baripada: A man serving life imprisonment at Rairangpur Sub Jail in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district escaped from the prison on Saturday.

As per reports, the prisoner, who hails from Budamara village under Bisoi police limits, was convicted in a murder case in 2015 and sentenced to life imprisonment.

During the imprisonment, he managed to win the trust of the jail authorities. He was also overseeing vegetable farming on the jail premises.

However, he fled the prison in the afternoon.

Probing into the incident, police came to know that he was present in Tananagar area. Efforts were on by cops to trace and nab him.
